Eric: Hello, Matrixians. Since we have published our Matrix 3.0 blueprint, on and off we got questions about what exactly the Matrix 3.0 is. I think it’s time that we have more education so that you can have more understanding of what we are going to do because it’s rather innovative.

So I think there’s a need for that. And that’s why we have our CEO Mr. Owen Tao to join us into this special AMA to share more about his view about this Matrix 3.0. And aside from Mr. Owen Tao, we will also have neuroscience experts to have AMA with us to. share his views specifically about neuroscience. And in this AMA, we will talk more about our 3.0 and Mr. Owen Tao will share his views and then to answer your questions. So in this AMA, we will have eight questions. And to help this AMA to be more easy to understand, we will use switch to Mandarin so that Owen can answer in the more thoroughful way and so that you can have more information and then can align the expectation on 3.0. Mr. Tao, let’s use Mandarin for this AMA so that you can try to answer these questions.

The first question is, what motivated us to copy Matrix to the space of Web 3.0?

Owen: When I first saw this movie when I was a kid, I thought the world was so cool. When we first set up this project, we chose this name. At that time, we had this idea. In 2016, when we formed the team, we wanted to bring the scene of the MATRIX to reality.

So with our 1.0, 2.0, and now 3.0, we are building our infrastructure step by step, and then step by step, we will make the scene in this movie a reality. Because we think it is not just a movie, but also a wonderful idea for the future world and future life. And from the current situation, I think the scene shown in this store is very likely to become a reality in the future. So we named our project Matrix, and we are working hard to do the right thing step by step.

Eric: Okay, next, this young man wants to know what kind of neural science and avatar intelligence combination are used to achieve this on our Matrix mainframe?

Owen: In the MATRIX movie, you can see the protagonist, Neo, lying on a machine, and then he is inserted into all kinds of interfaces. Then he is brought into the world of computers.

In fact, the method we use is very similar. In the field of neural science, the brain-brain interface has made some dramatic progress. At present, we think the technology in the field of brain-brain interfaces is the closest way to achieve this goal. So we are using the brain-brain interface method now. Of course, we started with a non-invasive brain-brain interface chip. We collect the human brainwaves and create its avatar clone on the blockchain. This is the way we use it now.

Eric: In the middle of the mainframe, we need to analyze these patterns through our AI, and then train our avatar more effectively. Yes. The second question is, what is the role of artificial intelligence, AI, in the Metaverse? What contribution can it make to the improvement of the entire encrypted world?

Owen: Here’s the thing. We are living in the real world. Even if we are living on the Earth, we have 7 billion people on the planet, and we don’t think the Earth is that crowded. The Earth is already on the edge of a world. In the virtual world, the virtual world is a world without borders. In a world without borders, we are still humans, and we are still carbon-based organisms.

We can’t live in a virtual world forever. We don’t have much time in the virtual world every day. So, the virtual world is too big for the real world. If it’s too big, we don’t have enough people to fill it. In this case, we need to put a lot of artificial intelligence in the virtual world.

Whether it’s robots or our avatars, they can make the world look less empty and more efficient. In addition, for humans, whether it’s Web3 or Metaverse, the ability and efficiency of obtaining and processing information is very important for our life in the virtual world. As you know, Web3 and Metaverse are definitely data worlds. But for humans, we are a carbon-based organism, we don’t have the ability to obtain a lot of information immediately.

We don’t have the ability to process a lot of data in a particularly strong parallel. In this case, we need artificial intelligence to be our assistant. It will help us obtain a lot of information and then select it based on our personal situation. At the same time, it has a very strong processing ability. In this case, I believe that the quality of life in the virtual world will significantly improve and the efficiency will improve. It will also help us create more value in Metaverse.

Eric: OK. The third question. What do you think of the impact of Matrix AI on neuroscience and its application?

Owen: I dare not say that it has an impact. We hope that it will have a positive impact in the future. If all of our 3.0 road maps are implemented and we have a certain degree of success, and we have more users, then the biggest contribution we can make to neuroscience is to contribute more data to it.

Users who are willing to play with Matrix 3.0 will be willing to provide their own data in the brain. If we can effectively separate the right to use and the right to privacy in the future, these data can provide more data for neuroscience and promote the development of neuroscience. At the same time, when neuroscience develops further, it can provide more applications, services and experiences for users in 3.0.

Eric: So it’s like a spiral reaction. One is improving, and then the other is improving, and then it keeps evolving. In fact, in neuroscience, the main applications are in medical fields.

Our 3.0 is providing another direction. This direction is in a virtual world. How to better prepare yourself in real life. So it’s another big application. This is also a contribution to the application of neuroscience. Next question is about the specific steps.

Can you please explain the steps of realizing avatar intelligence? It lists the first step, which is to print the brainwaves into a specific task. What can we do at home?

The second step is to upload it to the program. The third step is to monitor the avatar. Please explain in more detail how we can realize the avatar intelligence.

Owen: We have a preliminary plan and direction. Of course, we will make some adjustments to our future research and development in this area. At the beginning, we need to design a wearable device that can collect brainwaves. It might be like a headband. I don’t know if you have seen the picture of my generation.

It was actually worn on the head. It can collect some of our brainwaves. After that, it is actually divided into two steps. The first step is to collect our brainwaves and analyze them. When you collect brainwaves, the system will pass on some relevant information and stimuli. For example, it will show us different colors.

For example, black, white, blue, green. It will also show us various scenarios. For example, a volcano erupts, it rains, a Tsunami, and so on. At this time, the device will record our brainwaves. This part is actually recording the most real emotional response when we face various scenarios.

Emotion is a very important feature of us. These features will be analyzed and selected by an AI. In the end, it will become a algorithm that represents our personal emotional response. It will be stored on the blockchain and centralized in a way. Another part is that we need to simulate our own thinking and our ability to respond to this distribution. We will provide a feature similar to the ChatGPT.

It will interact with the computer for various problems. This algorithm will gradually understand our thinking, including how we deal with problems, respond to them, and think. When we combine emotions and thinking, it will become an algorithm. This algorithm is our earliest version of the Avatar Intelligence. After the earliest version is formed, we need to keep using it and correct it.

For example, we can ask it to do something, and we will score it for what it does. Or, if we are lazy, we can set a set of scoring rules and give it a set of tasks. Then this set of rules will automatically… This scoring mechanism is actually formed based on the different values of each of us. This algorithm will continue to complete these tasks based on this scoring mechanism until it gradually simulates our own behavior that is more in line with our personal values.

Then it will become more and more complicated and more complicated. Yes, that is roughly the logic. In the future, we can put our Avatar Intelligence into different original universes or different Web3 networks. Yes, because it can be used in different places. It is a set of algorithms. This set of algorithms exists on our Matrix AI network. Of course, we will provide various interfaces. We can use our scoring mechanism to move our avatar to different…

For example, we can move it to the Facebook Meta. For example, we can move Amazon to Amazon if Amazon develops it in the future. Yes, just like immigrants, they can move and live in different worlds. At the same time, they can also gain more information and data to improve themselves step by step. This is a technical plan we are considering at the moment. In the future, there may be some adjustments based on some actual situations we encounter.

Eric: Okay, thank you, Mr. Tao. The next question is, can Matrix AI work like ChatGPT?

Owen: Yes, in order to realize the 3.0 road, as I mentioned earlier, some of our work requires users to interact with themselves. So we have developed a similar project to be used in the future. Yes, it can be used in the future. Of course, if users want to improve their identity in 3.0, they must use this feature.

Eric: Okay, we have a similar tool. This tool is called Morpheus. Yes. The next question is, can our avatar interact with people from different countries in the universe? This means that people from different countries have their own languages and cultures. Can our artificial intelligence translate this information in real time to interact with each other?

Owen: The thing is, if the interaction between the avatars is not important, then the interaction between the avatars is actually an exchange of data. As long as the data is of the same standard, they can interact directly. There is no language restriction.
As for the interaction between people, when we use ChatGPT, we can feel that no matter what language I use to use ChatGPT, I can communicate with it smoothly. At present, this kind of real-time translation is already a relatively mature technology.

Of course, it can be done better in the future. For example, when we introduce neural science, can we use this kind of translation to provide the translation we want in our brain directly? Instead of having to go through the eye or ear to get this information. Of course, there may be a higher efficiency at that time.

But at present, it is not a threshold for people from different countries to communicate. The efficiency may be slightly worse at present. But in the future, I think it can be done very smoothly, especially after the integration of neural science.

Eric: The last two questions. How do you plan to pass the information from avatar to humans? We have been talking about the data that humans pass to avatars through the brain. This question is very good. How can we reverse the information from avatar to humans?

Owen: I will start with the theory. In theory, it is possible. In our neural… In our team of brain-blood connections, we have already realized some functions. For example, we can send signals to the little mouse using this data to perform some tasks.

This is currently feasible. If you are interested, we can share some results with you in the future. First of all, this is feasible in theory. In fact, there are two ways to pass information from avatar to humans. The first way is that we don’t pass it directly through the brain. We can see some of the work conditions of our avatar, including its processing of some information.

We can see this. This is also an action that we have to perform in the process of continuous training of the avatar. We have to be able to see some information from the avatar to gradually bring it closer to what we want and improve its efficiency. In the future, if we are really the entry point of the neural interface, especially the entry point, I believe we can share this data with our avatar directly through the brain. We can give it instructions through the brain, and it can also return some of the more intuitive data to us.

At present, we are using non-entry points. We can send some instructions to the avatar directly through the brain, but we can’t directly return and receive data through the brain. This is feasible in the case of using entry points. Of course, we have to wait until the technology is sufficiently improved, before we can start to open up some of the corresponding functions.

Eric: So we have non-entry-level and entry-level technologies. From a feasibility perspective, we will use non-entry-level technologies at first, because it avoids a lot of trouble and some problems. One last question. Can you discuss the AI consensus mechanism of Matrix? Can you talk about the potential impact of democratization and decentralization of blockchain technology?

Owen: I think we can adjust this question. We can discuss the potential impact of 3.0’s avatar intelligence on democratization and decentralization of blockchain. As you know, a popular organization is called Daoism, which is a decentralized governance organization. It is very popular now, especially since last year. The current existence of Daoism is limited and inefficient.

For example, all proposals need users to vote for them. We need to vote for our own proposals or for the protection of our interests. We need to vote. In essence, the consensus mechanism of the blockchain is a reflection of Daoism. For example, the proof of work of Bitcoin is to vote based on the amount of work. The POS that Ethereum has changed is a way of voting for the proof of all. If we really develop into the outer 3D or the outer universe, the traditional Daoist organization will not be enough.

Why? There are some problems with the current voting mechanism. First, we cannot vote for the consensus mechanism in real time as humans. We cannot focus on all the voting events in real time. We have other things to do. Some meaningful and important votes may be missed due to some personal reasons.

Second, personal voting is very inefficient. In order to be relevant to our interests, we need to govern with a Democratic mechanism. Although the current consensus mechanism can do a part of it, it cannot solve all the problems. For example, the consensus mechanism used by EOS can entrust our voting rights to a super node. But it doesn’t mean that every time a super node votes, it represents my personal will. I cannot participate in every vote.

For example, when my wallet is stolen, and it is transferred to a wallet with an A, every time a wallet transfers money, from a consensus perspective, I should vote against it. But I cannot monitor its transfer of money in real time. These are all things that humans cannot do.

When we introduce Avata Intelligence, it can solve and improve these problems to a large extent. Although we humans cannot do live online voting, we cannot monitor a large amount of data on the chain and make the best decisions for each transaction. But our Avata Intelligence can do that. It is an AI algorithm that lives in the virtual world. It has the ability to process a large amount of data.

In this case, we can train it in terms of values. In this case, it can represent us and process a lot of data on the chain. At that time, we think that the real thing is that after the blockchain or Web3 is mature, it will be a democracy that is decentralized.

Everyone can have a real control over their own data. This is the real thing. It is a democracy that is decentralized. Everyone can deal with their own interests in real time. It can truly achieve democracy. Although it looks more decentralization now, it is still a long way from being truly decentralized.

So, I hope that in the future, our Avatar Intelligence can get better and better. It can truly lead our Web3 or blockchain to the next era, a truly decentralized and Democratic era.

Eric: Thank you. This is the first time I have heard Mr. Tao share the impact of the consensus mechanism, DAO, and our Avata Intelligence. It sounds quite interesting and inspiring.

We can also consider using Mandarin to describe the next AMA. It will be more exquisite and comprehensive. That’s all for today’s AMA. So, that concludes today’s AMA. This AMA is specifically about 3.0 Avata Intelligence.

I think you guys can understand more from Mr. Tao’s sharing. He is using Mandarin, which is his native language. He can definitely share more, more friendly and with all his thoughts.

I think we can review to see whether we can switch to Mandarin for AMAs to come. I think that’s it. Thanks, Owen, and thanks, Mr. Shen, for watching these AMA videos. If you have more questions, just as usual, submit to our Google Form and we will screen and address them.

Thank you. Bye-bye.
